YGG, Sega execs’ gaming blockchain launches mainnet
Oasys, a Singapore-based blockchain firm, announced that it will fully launch its mainnet in three phases starting today until November 22.
Founded earlier this year, Oasys is a blockchain designed and developed for the gaming community. The company said its architecture will provide benefits such as zero “gas fees” and high-speed transactions through combining Ethereum virtual machine-compatible layer 1 and layer 2 protocols.
The company’s founding team members include Yield Guild Games co-founder Gabby Dizon, Bandai Namco research president and CEO Hajime Nakatani, Jump Tokyo CEO Hironobu Ueno, Gumi founder and Thirdverse CEO Hironao Kunimitsu, and Sega co-COO Shuji Utsumi.
It is currently led by Daiki Moriyama, co-founder of a crypto project called Whole Earth Foundation.
In July, Oasys raised US$20 million in a private token sale led by Republic Capital, Jump Crypto, Crypto.com, Huobi, Kucoin, Gate.io, Bitbank, and Mirana Ventures.
